MEMBERSHIP IN CLAN DIE FLEDERMAUS

There are three different standings that an individual may have in Clan Die Fledermaus, guest, battling or member. When someone attends Pennsic with us for the first time they are designated as a guest. All guests to the clan must be invited by a current/active member of the clan. That member must make sure that their guest is informed of all necessary information pertaining to the War in general and our campsite in particular. Guests have no voting rights. They are not able to invite people to attend War with them. They pay dues of $80.00 to attend War with us. If all goes well on their first year, the Clan will likely ask them to return to Pennsic with them the following year with a designation of Battling.

Battlings have attended at least one previous War with the Clan. They pay $80.00 in group dues. Battlings can vote in budget meetings but are unable to vote in membership promotion meetings. Battlings are not able to invite any guests. Once an individual has completed a second War with the Clan they may be asked to become a full Member. However, if the current members have any concerns about the battling in question or simply feel that they do not know them well enough, they may not be asked to become a full member, but may remain a battling. An individual may remain a battling indefinitely.

Members have attended at least two previous Wars with the Clan. They pay $80.00 in membership dues and have full voting privileges. They are able to invite guests but are asked to limit themselves to no more than 1-2 guests per year. Members can be distinguished by the velvet tabards and favors they wear. Once a battling is promoted to Member status, they can put in an order with Diane for a tabard and or favor. (The Clan does not pay for these items out of budget money, but the individual pays for their own.)
